This blue and white porcelain jar has a generous spherical shape and a tall, slightly flaring mouth and low base. The mouth rim and base feature bands of blue vertical lines. Just below the mouth sits a further border of ruyi scrolls, symbolizing the head of a ceremonial Buddhist scepter, thought to be an auspicious symbol across East Asia. The body of the jar features an autumn floral motif, with a mixture of lighter and darker blue hues used to add dimension to the leaves and petals.
