Carl Kempe White Glazed Lobed Bowl
A white glazed foliate bowl
Northern Song dynasty (AD 960-1127)
H: 8.2cm D: 20.7cm
Delicately formed and serenely elegant, this shallow bowl unfolds in six rounded, petal-like lobes, resting gracefully upon a straight footrim. The surface is cloaked in a luminous cream-toned glaze, its subtle network of fine crackles revealing the quiet poetry of time. Radiating the Song aesthetic of understated refinement. The footrim is unglazed exposing a grey body.
