Song Ceramics
Cizhou Pillow
A Cizhou painted bean-shaped pillow with the concave top decorated with flowers within a incised lobed border. The base is left unglazed exposing the reddish-brown buff stoneware.
High-fired stoneware.
Song Dynasty (AD 9600-1279).
Cizhou kilns, Southern Hebei, North China.
